General Hunt Information:

Items To Bring on your Safaris With Us:

A battery operated alarm clock.
Raincoat and a good hat.
Odourless sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 20.
Three sets of hunting clothes, khaki or camo.
A thick jacket as it gets cold during the winter evenings.
Gloves, and possibly a small scarf.
Well-worn and comfortable walking boots with thick socks.
Personal medication.
A good camera and enough film/memory sticks.
Rifle and cleaning equipment.
Ammunition.
Binoculars / Rangefinder.
If hunting during our summer months (September-April), insect repellent is advised.
We make use of 220 V electrical power supply so if necessary please remember your converter.
Own ammunition if you reload (Certain makes can be purchased locally).
Bow hunters, camo is essential.

Included in Packages:

Services of professional hunter and/or guide.
Use of all hunting vehicles.
Services of trackers, skinners and camp staff.

Ground transport to and from the nearest airport.
Transport of trophies to a local taxidermist.

Air charters.
Trophy fees (unless included in the package).
Accommodations before or after your safari.
Taxidermy, packaging and shipping of trophies.
Staff gratuities.
All hunting licenses, area fees and permits.
Game taken other than included in the package.
Wounded animals are to be paid for in full.
14% Value Added Tax on daily rates.

Rifle Hunting Safaris:

Hunting Areas:

Hunting concessions are held throughout Southern Africa, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique as well as all the provinces within South Africa.

Professional Hunters & Staff:

All professional hunters are fully licensed and experienced with rifle, handgun and bow. Methods of hunting include walk and stalk, spot and stalk and blinds. As we are also professional outfitters all trophy preparations and skinning are done by our staff and is always supervised by one of our professional hunters.

Rifles & Ammunition:

For plains game a rifle of 7mm or 30 calibre with premium grade bullets is recommended. The minimum requirements for dangerous game is a 375 H&H, with a 100 rounds of ammunition being permitted per rifle. A shotgun is also recommended for the occasional bird shooting during safari.

Black Powder:

Most black powder guns are accepted for plains game hunting, but will need to inquire on dangerous game hunting.

Clothing:

You will need 3 sets of hunting wear and 2 set of casual camp wear. Clothing should be of neutral bush colour, no military style camo is allowed. At least 1 or 2 sets of well-worn boots and a pair of camp shoes is also necessary. Other items include camera and film, flashlight, gloves, hunting knife, binoculars, hat or cap and sunscreen.

Terms and Conditions:

Deposits:

A 50% deposit of the daily rate and if the client books a package, 50% deposit is required of the total package. The rest is payable on arrival and the extras are settled at the end of the safari. If for any reason you should cancel more than 60 days prior to your arrival , the total deposit we hold will be held for you for an alternative date. Under exceptional circumstance (ie illness or death) your full deposit will be refunded. On day-rate safaris only trophies taken or wounded are charged for.

Liability:

The Hunting outfitter shall not be liable for any damage, losses and expenses suffered by any client as a result of sickness, quarantine, weather conditions, war, strikes, riots or any other cause outside our control. The Hunting outfitter accepts no liability in respect of death, injury, loss or damage to person or property arising out of any act, omission or negligence. The client shall be deemed to have waived, renounced and abandoned any and all right or entitlement which the client may be entitled to under the provisions of the law of the Republic of South Africa for any loss or damage to person or property.

Client Responsibility:

Clients may not carry any unlawful articles or substances whilst in the South African region. If any hunter or observer offends against the prohibitions set out herein, the Hunting outfitter will be entitled to immediately exclude from the safari hunting party the offender who will be responsible for his or her own repatriation and all costs thereof. Legendary Safari's will under no circumstances assist any such offender in any dealings or negotiations with any authority. All clients must take out medical insurance to cover them whilst they are on their safari.

Jurisdiction:

In all matters where it is or may be necessary to have recourse to the Court, the Courts of the Republic of South Africa shall have sole jurisdiction to the exclusion of the Courts of any other country and the prevailing law of the Republic of South Africa shall prevail.
